The baptism of your child is a very important event in his/her life. Baptism is the first of the three sacraments that initiate us into the Catholic Church. First Eucharist and Confirmation are the other Sacraments of Initiation. The universal law of the Catholic Church called the Code of Canon Law sets the requirements for receiving baptism. The requirements are listed below.

Confirmation, a sacrament of initiation, completes Baptism. In this sacrament the gifts of the Holy Spirit strengthens us to live out our Baptism.

Eucharist, a sacrament of initiation, joins us most fully to Christ and to the Church. We share in the one sacrifice of Christ. The bread and wine become the BODY and BLOOD OF CHRIST through the power of the Holy Spirit and the words of the priest. We receive the Body and Blood of Christ.

Reconciliation is a sacrament of healing. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the priest extends to us the forgiveness of sins. The priest takes the place of Christ and the community. |
The Anointing of the Sick is also a sacrament of healing. It strengthens our faith and trust in God when we are seriously ill, dying or weak because of age. |

Holy Orders is a sacrament of vocation. Through Holy Orders a baptized man is consecrated to serve the whole Church as a priest, deacon or bishop in the name of Christ.
